October Week 2008
This year, we asked each of our weekly workshop groups to suggest a topic for our October Week project, and the entries were put to a public vote on the Toonspeak bebo page. The winning entry came from Blackhill...
Jamie's Pocket: A mysterious tale of travelling objects in a young girl's pocket: talking travel cards, argumentative apples and chatty chewing gum. Everyone has heard of the right pocket, but no-one has ever seen it... Then objects start going missing - fruit... money... but where do they go??

Spring Break 2008 See below for the video that the Next Generation of Challenge Toonspeakers made about Toonspeak:
Challenge Toonspeak: Next Generation We recruited a team of determined, creative young people to convince funders they should give us money. How to do that was decided by the group – using the materials in the Toonspeak office and studio (internet access, digital camera, video equipment, art supplies) and the Toonspeak staff to help. In the Depths... Ever wondered what you’d find in the deepest seas? Or what secrets hide at the bottom of the Clyde? This time round Toonspeak were looking at the spooky things found in an underwater world, leading up to a wonderful perfromance on the Friday afternoon. Here are some of our past projects... October Week 2007 More than 20 young people spent a week in Barmulloch making sock puppets and acting with them in scenes. There was a sharing on the Friday afternoon when friends and family got to see the completed scenes and meet some of the crazy characters. October Week 2006 A group of young people worked with the themes Fireworks and Hallowe'en to create a performance for the Copperworks Backlands Festival in Royston. Easter 2006 Using a combination of video scenes filmed in the Toonspeak studio and a live performance, the Nicky and Mickey Travel Chat Show was created during week one. The second week of the Easter Holidays was dedicated to one day tasters, covering skills as diverse as Singing/Songwriting, Capoeira, Puppet making and Giant Origami. October Week 2005 Ever wanted to be a Superhero? For one week back in 2005 that's exactly what some of the Toonspeak members did, complete with special powers and capes and everything. October Week 2004 A special space-themed project to get everyone in the mood for the summer show the following summer, Pictures in the Stars.
