Toonspeak Young People's Theatre

Theatre Trips

We think it’s really important to go and see lots of theatre if we want to create good shows.  Each theatre workshop gets to go and see a professional theatre production of their choosing once a term.  We run critical review sessions after each performance to increase young people's enjoyment and appreciation of live theatre.

In the last couple of years, we have been to see:

That Face by the Tron Theatre Company at the Tron

The House of Bernarda Alba by National Theatre of Scotland at the Citizens' Theatre

Dangerously Yours by Lung Ha's at the Platform Theatre

The Memory Projector by Wildworks & Homecoming Scotland at Merchant Square

Dying for It by RSAMD BA Acting Students at the RSAMD

The Ducky by Borderline Theatre Company at the Tron

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at the Lyceum

Little Voice by Visible Fictions at the Citizens' Theatre

The Scottish Show at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum

Cinderella by Scottish Ballet at the Theatre Royal

James and the Giant Peach by the Citizens' Company at the Citizens' Theatre

Wullie Whittington by the Tron at the Tron

Monkey by Dundee Rep and SDT at the Tramway

National Festival of Youth Theatre at Horsecross, Perth Theatre

“It was good going to the Citizens and seeing the show on a big stage. I liked it when Little Voice got up and sang.”
